Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby London Premiere

By Alisa Narbutas

All you need is love, love – love is all you need”

(Lennon/McCartney)

Love is everywhere! You can listen to it on the radio, see it on the streets and on the big screens in cinema – there’s no actual chance to escape from it. Think of all the great and tragic love stories in history like Romeo and Juliet, Napoleon and Josephine and now there’s a new one to add to the list – Connor and Eleanor.

Following a life-changing event the lovebirds find themselves in a difficult situation, that each of them deals differently with. As Connor (James McAvoy) throws himself into the heavy workload at his restaurant, Eleanor (Jessica Chastain) takes on a path to find her inner self, signing on to a further education course at university.

The three feature project by Director Ned Benson is split in 3 different films, each one showing different perspectives (same time period) of the main characters in “Him”, “Her” and “Them.

Friday evening the Videoplugger team, once again hit Leicester Square, for the premiere of the Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.

We had the privilege to talk the Director and Producer Ned Benson himself as well as one of the main characters – X-men star James McAvoy, who was joined on the red carpet by his wife Anne-Marie Duff.

He’s a first time director but he’s a lot more assured and skilled than a lot of [other] guys I worked with, who done many more films “ the Scottish Actor shared how it was to work with Director Ned Benson.

He’s so poetic…so penetrative with the material and the characters with their themes and their emotional content”

When we asked Ned Benson what was the thought behind making a three feature film project, the first time Director explained that he “ wanted to make a relationship film, a film about love but based on the two perspectives within the relationship – the male and the female”

They are both amazing, they made me seem like a better director…I can’t say enough about how hard they work and how talented they are”
