Interviews – Cinema Made In Italy

Cinema Made In Italy probably sounds familiar, since we posted the return of Cinema Made In Italy last week. We had a chance to interview few directors and actors, that came to London to present their work to the UK audience! All of the video interview will shop up very shortly and in the mean time we give you a short preview of what you might see in the video.

Paolo Taviani

Our first interview was with director Paolo Taviani. Paolo Taviani was born on 8 November 1931. He and his brother Vittorio Taviani make a special duo since they always work together. In Cinema Made In Italy you could have seen the film ‘Rainbow – a Private Afair’ from Taviani Brothers. In the interview director texpressed his passion for the film, and explained why he wanted to bring the story of World War II in Italy back to life again. He’s already 86 years old, but his speech is still full of enthusiasm and love for life. Multiple times he made funny jokes during the interview!

Francesca Comencini

Film Director Francesca Comencini in Cinema Made In Italy presented her film ‘Stories Of Love That Cannot Belong To This World’. During the interview you could see her passion by what she was telling. It was a coincidence that she gave the interview on International Women day since the film is mainly about women and relationships. The movie received a lot of criticism in it’s birthplace – Italy, as the movie shows relationship from a woman point of view, which wasn’t very common. Director expressed hope, that the movie will be more appreciated here in London.

Antonio & Marco Manetti

Brothers Marco Manetti and Antonio Manetti are inseparable film director duo. They are often referred as the Manetti bros. Their musical ‘Love and Bullets’ was played at the event Cinema Made in Italy. In the interview both brothers gave a lot of detail on how each character was created and this movie came to life.

Jasmine Trinca

The last person that we interviewed was Jasmine Trinca – actress who played in the film ‘Fortunata’. She played the main role of the film –  Fortunata itself.  In the film she’s playing a whole different character than she is in normal life. In the interview she explained that this was quite a hard role for her. Actress wasn’t afraid to talk about her personal life as well as future career turns.

The full interviews will be soon published on our YouTube channel, so stay tuned!
