London Film Festival 2015

Drm.am covered the UK premiere of Trumbo during the BFI London Film Festival and talked to producer Shivani Rawat about her input in this incredible movie about successful screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. We also listened to the great Bryan Cranston, most famous for his role in the tv-hit serie Breaking Bad , who plays the role of Dalton Trumbo in this movie.

1940s famous screenwriter Dalton Trumbo’s career comes to a crumbling end in this movie when he is blacklisted for his political beliefs. ‘Trumbo’ (directed by Jay Roach) tells the story of his fight against the U.S. government and studio bosses in a war over words and freedom, which involved a lot of important people in Hollywood including Hedda Hopper (Helen Mirren), John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger.

We attended the red carpet during the Trumbo premiere and listened to Bryan Cranston who was talking about the fact that it was a big responsibility for him to play a non-fictional role. He said that it was a big challenge because the movie tells the story of a person who was notable enough to make a movie about. He also mentions Dalton Trumbo’s daughters who were very much involved in the process of making this movie.
